Maryport is a small delightful harbour town situated on the beautiful Solway Firth. Its history, covering 2000 years, boasts a Roman Fort, Georgian buildings, Victorian docks and industries which have included coal mining, iron making, shipping and shipbuilding and many fascinating liks with famous men and historical events. The blues festival main stage is located in a marquee on the Netherhall Rugby grounds and fields by the River Ellen, just a short walk from the town centre and the trail takes place in pubs and clubs around town.
